Thai Acupressure and Hot Herbal Compress healing has deep roots in Thai culture. Herbal heat compress is the Thailand's best-known traditional therapy. It dates back to ancient times when it was the secret healing technique of Buddhist monks, local herbal healers and midwives and was passed down from generation to generation.

Herbal compresses are frequently used in Thailand in conjunction with traditional Thai massage.  However they can also be used as a therapy in their own right. Herbal compresses come in two varieties, hot and cold.  While cold compresses are first-aid treatments, hot compresses are frequently used to treat chronic disease.

Hot compresses provide the same type of stimulation as acupressure, and are used to stimulate tender or sensitive areas that cannot be massaged directly; for example, the back may be too painful for direct acupressure, but hot herbal compresses on the same points will provide similar benefits.

Typically, a Thai massage therapist will not only place a compress to the area of injury or disorder, but will also work on acupressure points throughout the body to stimulate and relax the client and to promote the body's natural processes.

The Hot Herbal Compress contains more than ten natural herbals with many medicinal properties - anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-bacterial and other effects.  They help to relax the body, stimulate blood circulation, reduce back pain, muscle aches and tendon and joint swelling.

Aims of the course:
